Well, we tried to put an event on, but it didn’t quite get the uptake we wanted, so it was back to the drawing board.


The owner of Birchall Estate has kindly organized entertainment, bar and beer and the Midlands XC series is definitely on, so our event is reverting to a non-event.


You are welcome, free of charge, to come up to the site, camp for free, enjoy Rupert’s hospitality, ride the course at a pre-determined time with a number of other like minded individuals on Saturday afternoon and then enjoy the bar on Saturday night.  You can choose then to ride the proper Mids xc race on the Sunday morning.

What to do This isn’t some sort of scam, as no money needs to change hands, unless you feel particularly charitable and you fancy donating something to the cause. Think of it as bringing a bottle to a party. Email at the address below to say you think you might be coming. That way we can plan out camping and make sure there is enough beer on order. The non-event will happen on Saturday 31st July at Birchall Golf Club, Unstone nr. Chesterfield (google it). A bit nearer the time we will publish a map etc. and detailed directions to get to the site on the updates section. An email will also go out to all those that have registered. A race course will be laid out for the Mids XC series that happening on the Sunday and at some point on Saturday you can ride around with a few other people. This isn’t an event, race or organised ride. Think of it as meeting up with your mates for a blast through the woods for a while. The bar will be open all afternoon day and then a band on during the evening. Get up on Sunday and race or just heckle the racers or go home.
